Stop Trying to Build Your Own Website

What’s up, beautiful people of the internet!

Today may be a great day, but we all know how annoying creating a simple website or landing page for your business can be.

Whether you need somewhere to display your work, collect leads, or try to build brand awareness — having a website is central to all of your online marketing activities.

  • But maybe you’re not good at designing and don’t think you have what it takes to do it right the first time.
  • Perhaps you need a simple website but don’t have the time or energy to create one from scratch.
  • Maybe you’ve never thought about paying someone to do it before you because you thought it might be too expensive.
  • Maybe you have paid someone, and it did not go well

No worries: This is where I come in.

The other day I released my first tier-based web packages on Upwork.

This morning they were finally approved.

If you need a website, you can view my Upwork profile here and browse the different packages that I’ve put together.

I’ll briefly break the three tiers below.

Disclaimer: I’m not sure if anyone will buy one of these packages from me; see to it that I’ve never freelanced before or sold any services on Upwork.

But hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?

1. Ultimate Starter Pack — $249

If you need a simple website that only needs 1–3 pages, then this is the way. We can work together on an attractive theme that meets the needs of your business and a style that accurately showcases your products, services, or skills.

  • Number of revisions: 1
  • Plugins/extensions: 3
  • Responsive design: Yes
  • eCommerce functionality: No
  • Collect leads: Yes
  • Social media integrations: Yes

2. Deluxe Standard Edition — $449

The standard package is if you need something more robust for your growing business. I can work with you to develop and integrate systems that will meet the needs of your business as it grows.

  • Delivery time: 7 days
  • Number of revisions: 2
  • Plugins/extensions: 7
  • Responsive design: Yes
  • eCommerce functionality: Yes
  • Collect leads: Yes
  • Social media integrations: Yes

3. Advanced — $699

An enterprise-level website that can meet the high demands of your current business or something that can handle a large volume of existing customers.

  • Delivery time: 10–20 days
  • Number of revisions: 3–5
  • Plugins/extensions: 15–20
  • Responsive design: Yes
  • Premium theme
  • eCommerce functionality: Yes
  • Collect leads: Yes
  • Social media integrations: Yes

Websites are something that people and businesses consistently need.

In other words, it’s an in-demand skill, and I’m personally hoping to use Upwork to add some client-facing experience to my resume.

You should consider freelancing if:

  • You know how to do something that could be charged for by the hour
  • As I illustrated above, you can package and bundle your skills and service together with the “projects” section on Upwork

I’m not shilling this advice because of my personal success or the amount of money I’ve made (I haven’t made any).

I’m encouraging it because freelancing will enable a different mindset that allows freedom and flexibility in your work later on you choose.

If you can successfully become good enough at a few things that people consistently need, you can charge your own rate and work.

Once you get a few projects under your belt, it becomes easier to land larger, more lucrative clients after building a more extensive portfolio and positive reviews.

Of course, freelancing isn’t as easy as some make it seem, but the good news is that it’s easier than ever to get started with all of the available tools.

For example, Upwork allows you to add your own optional add-ons for clients for things that someone may want with their purchase.

I hadn’t even thought about this until they presented me with the option.

Walla.

My optional add-ons list looks like this:

  • fast delivery: +$49-$149
  • additional revision: +$19
  • additional product: +$20
  • additional page: +$59
  • additional plug-in/ext: +$10
  • new logo design: +$49
  • SEO copywriting: +$99
  • domain host + integration: +$49

This enables you to bundle all your services in an excellent little package while earning more for the goodies and extras some people may want.

Pretty cool, if you ask me.

Think about the things that make you unique and the things that you can do better than other people. Could you package any of it together?

Hopefully, my experience helps you out, and if you need a new website — hit me up!

Anyways, that’s all now.

Wish me luck — and I’ll catch ya soon.

Matt
